BIO / EXPERIENCE

WHAT IS MECHANIC SEAMSTRESS? Mechanic Seamstress is an Ode to my immigrant parents. My father is an auto-mechanic, and a tinkerer-maker with grease under the nails, and an opinion on anything. My mother is a Seamstress who, when I was growing up, always made me any zany outfits I would dream up to express myself through fashion. And then there's me.... a first-gen Asian-American who pursued a career in Design. In essence (get 'Meta' with me for a sec), I am a modern mash-up of these two beautiful Craftsmen who made me. The computer is the machine I tinker on, and with it I create visual tapestries for products, and people. I am driven by my curiosity and have been making things, and experimenting with random hobbies my whole life. Here’s a list of places where I’ve created MANY a Things. Let’s connect.

In-House designer for Sally Hansen Nail Color and Beauty Tools (US and Global Creative) Packaging, Visual Merchandising, Digital Marketing.

2006 - 2012 DuWop Cosmetics
Art Director, In-House
Art Director and Brand Manager of four cosmetics brands each entailing: packaging, product development, marketing, visual merchandising in multiple retail tiers. Capsule collection co-branding and private label product development.

2003 - 2005 Elwood Clothing Co.
Sr. Designer, In-House
In-House Sr. Designer. Developed apparel graphics, womens and menswear apparel, garment tech packs, and seasonal catalog photoshoots and print design.
